The rework improves on problems involving print scrunching(line registration problems) at the top and bottom of tractor feed paper. This rework also improves on paper feeding. Tractor-feed paper now works well with any of the available feed methods. The other major improvement is the noise level of the printer, the frequency of which has been reduced by about 500 htz. This makes the printer seem much quieter. The rework program basically consists of having your dealer order a reworked iter LQ's have this rework done already. If the service technician at your local dealer does not know about this rework program, have him call Apple Customer Service (Service Administration) for details. This program does not involve the technician doing any work on the printer. The entire rework is done by Apple and you will only be without a printer for the amount of time necessary to take the old printer in to exchange it for a reworked ImageWriter LQ. Make sure to talk to the service technician before taking a printer in. The dealer must order the reworked printer for the exchange. They will not have printers in stock for you to exchange yours with, though they may have new ImageWriter LQ's in stock. ------------/ proline: pro-novapple!daveharv uucp: crash!pro-novapple!daveharv arpa: crash!pro-novapple!daveharv@nosc.mil Internet: daveharv@pro-novapple.cts.com Northern Virginia Apple Users Group >pro-novapple< 703-671-0416/300-2400 baud
