	"The METAFONTbook" by Donald E. Knuth, Stanford University. 
	Addison Wesley Publishing Company.
	ISBN 0-201-13444-6

	As far as I know this is the only documentation on METAFONT.  It's by
the author of the METAFONT/TeX software.  It's pretty good reading (I'm
reading it now).
