To return to the article: I think porting software from a QL to an Amiga ( or vice versa ) is about as difficult as porting software from UNIX to a QL : Not to simple. The problem is that QDOS is a quite odd operating system; it has calls which can do the job but with different calls then you should expect. e.g. a stty() call on a window is not existent; one should use another call to read in "raw" and "cooked" mode ( no cbreak; signals doesn't exist on a QL ). Another major problem is the lack of any environment variables on the QL. -- ________________________________________________________________________________ Klamer Schutte mcvax!nikhefh!n62 n62@nikhefh.hep.nl ------------------------------ Date: 27 Feb 89 10:13:14 GMT From: mcvax!unido!laura!trillian.irb!klute@uunet.uu.net (Rainer Klute) Subject: Re: Zoo/ST status update To: info-atari16@score.stanford.edu In article <107625@neabbs.UUCP> daanjj@neabbs.UUCP (DAAN JITTA) writes: >Finally, it's nice to remark that about 2 days after I uploaded a beta >version of Zoo/ST to some Dutch BBSes, somebody started writing a graphical >shell, much like the very popular ARCSH graphical shell for ARC. As the author of ARCGSH I'd like to state that I plan to integrate a mechanism for calling ZOO from ARCGSH. Unfortunately I haven't much time currently to do so but some day it *will* come. I just received the shar/unshar package in the sources group. If it works reliably I will also support it with ARCGSH. (Ok, the name "ARCGSH" may be a little bit confusing after those extensions.)
