The Multifinder section in the OS manual, as well as the Font/DA Mover section in the utilities manual both *suggest* that you avoid using Font/DA Mover while Multifinder is active. I managed to mung up my System file by installing a DA with Multifinder active (I read the manual and tried it anyway!) Just for grins (after saving off your current System), try installing and uninstalling the DA under Finder instead of Multifinder. May work.
