Both TeX implementations for the Mac (MacTeX and TeXtures) allow one
to use precompiled formats like LaTeX, SliTeX, AMSTeX, etc. Also,
thanks to Michael Kahn (kahn@wucs1.wustl.edu) and others there is a
port of BibTeX for the  Mac.
