I ran Disk First Aid on both the floppy and my hard drive, and a problem was found and fixed on the hard drive. I then ran a hard disk verification test and found no problems. When I tried to copy the floppy again, it hung, and once again Disk First Aid found a problem. I copied from other floppies and from the hard disk, and it worked fine. I copied from the floppy in question to other floppies, and that worked. I even took the floppy to work and copied it to another MacII successfully. I pulled out every init and cdev and tried the copy. No luck. Then, I booted from another disk and tried it. Still no luck. Finally, I copied each file by hand until I got the hang. Then, I put the rest of the files in a StuffIt archive on the hard disk, and then extracted the data into the place I wanted it in the first place, and it worked just fine. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? (Don't even think about saying it's a virus -- I check everything before and after it gets loaded.) -- David Elliott ...!pyramid!boulder!stan!dce "Splish splash, I was rakin' in the cash" -- Eno
