I purchased 7 last year and abou 4 of the 7 failed within a few months. Jasmine repaired them as necessary. I'm quite sure there's something wrong with Jasmine drives since they have recently replaced the guts of their drives with Rodime parts as opposed to the CDC (?) parts they used to use. Talking with other companies I find that they have had amazingly similar experiences ... i.e several of their Jasmine drives have all failed within weeks of purchase. Consider also that a former employee of Jasmine is sueing Jasmine for marketing products that are sold as very reliable but which Jasmine knows are inherently unreliable. There are other rumors of an upcoming scandal. Jasmine drives are inexpensive, but I don't think they are the most reliable drives on the market just from the experiences we've had. Can anyone recommend better disk drives for not much more $$$$ / megabyte?
