Here at our service center, we have seen several Mac IIs come in with
the same problem...unable to find the internal scsi drive.  Every time
the drive motor was frozen (couldnt spin).  Sometimes, simply tapping on
the drive will free it up.  Most people opt for drive replacement (they
paid the big bucks for AppleCare so why not replace the drive).
