It uses Macintalk. I recently took delivery of an SE/30 (which is very nice, it's cut down my coffee intake because there is no longer the time to make a cup while waiting for a compilation). Trouble is my application won't speak to me on the new machine - or at least it only does so intermittently. Is there any obvious reason for this? Some more information which might be relevant: My program uses other sounds too, so it uses both the free-form sound generators and the square-wave generator. The application is written in object pascal. The program behaves as if it is speaking in that there is a pause in execution when speech should be getting generated. Other simpler programs which I have written using Macintalk have transferred to the SE/30 without problem. Of course Apple's answer would be that Macintalk is not a supported product, but I do have good reasons for using it over Smoothtalker. All offers of ideas gratefully received.
