Keywords: SunOS Message-ID: Date: 14 Mar 89 16:16:48 GMT Sender: usenet@rice.edu Organization: University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA Lines: 18 Approved: Sun-Spots@rice.edu Original-Date: 4 Feb 89 02:00:55 GMT X-Sun-Spots-Digest: Volume 7, Issue 198, message 13 of 13 When I installed the serial-port patches sent by Sun, we started seeing a bit of gibberish everytime sunview exits. The odd thing is, this gibberish appears in the input stream of the login shell, which echoes it as "^[[193z". I'm sure the problem depends on which kernel was booted. Anyway, I'm not as interested in diagnosing the problem as I am in deciding how dangerous it is to keep running this apparently-only- slightly-demented kernel. It seems to be stable for everything else, and the patches really help. Any suggestions?
