OVERVIEW - We have a Sun 4/280 server running SunOS 4.0.1 and a Sun4/110 client running SunOS 4.0.1. The Sun4/110 has a 327 MB drive attached. 2. QUESTION - When I copy (cp) a file from the 4/110 physical disk to the 4/280 physical disk, the file speed is about 55 Kb/sec. If I remote copy (rcp) a from from the 4/110 to the 4/280 I get transfer speed of 300 Kb/sec. Why is there a big difference in xfer time between the "cp" and "rcp" over the NFS. Robert P.
