Message-ID: Date: 18 Mar 89 05:01:50 GMT Sender: news@phoenix.Princeton.EDU Distribution: comp Organization: Cognitive Science Lab. Princeton University. Lines: 24 Does anyone out there has any tips on what sort of precautions that I should take to move those big xerox trident/century drives around (i.e. those for the old & big removable disk packs) ? I'm currently stuck with one of those drives and I need to move one of those beasts to another building and I don't have any hardware manuals/docs about that kind of drives whatsoever :-( I called up the Xerox support people and they sounded pretty involved -- need 2 people to do the job and need to insert some sort of special stuff into the drive before the actual exodus. Is that really that bad ? I thought that all I need to do is to disconnect the cables and lock the disks (well actually remove the disk packs from the drives), no ? Any pointers will be very much appreciated. :-) Eric Ho Princeton Cognitive Science Lab., Princeton University email = eho@phoenix.princeton.edu voice = 609-987-2987 -- regards. -eric-
