I've had two wyse-60's that began to make a high-pitched whine, 
which can be stopped by fiddling with the modem connector on the back.
When wyse-50's started to make a similar sound, they died soon after.
I long ago stopped ever turning them off:  failure, when it occurred,
almost always came at power-on.
