I have made mf 1.3 using the latest and greatest Web2C from UC Irvine and
Web sources from Stanford.  Here's the problem: the TFM files I made cause
TeX (2.96, made the same way) to choke saying the format is bad.  Other TFM
files work great.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?  Any solution to it other than
buying a Pascal compiler?
