Well, this article has produced an avalanch of mail! I guess I hit a nerve.

For all of you who asked about the original posting, the mention of FFS was
an aside in an article that was posted about two to four weeks ago. You might
try searching your archives.

I do know that this was done as much as a year ago, and it does work.
You need the source, and Apple isn't giving it away... However, what
caught my eye was the mention that the mods had been obtained FROM
APPLE, which was implicitly denied by two Apple people I've just
corresponded with. If, in fact (an unbeknownst to them), A/UX Support is
now providing this mod, it should be made widely available to all who
want to be on the bleeding edge. For 10x speedups, I'll spill a little
blood...
