I believe that one of the major U.S. auto manufacturers is using noise
cancellation by having the stereo equipment in the car put out white noise
out of phase. This was written about a couple (or more) times in various
mags available to the public. It might even been used is some print
advertising. Sorry, but I don't recall which and when.
