Soliciting for contributions is ok. Let me ask you something Rahul, do you like making other people money and getting nothing in return? This is what you are doing when you post shareware or demos. In addition, think of what the supporting sites would do if they were to discover that something they thought was a free information exchange media was being used for commercial purposes and the cost they incure is supporting some other business.
