Periph. 2400SA Problem Keywords: modem control, DCD Message-ID: <11099@well.UUCP> Date: 26 Mar 89 02:14:33 GMT Distribution: na Lines: 16 I need some advice on the use of a Practical Peripherals 2400SA modem hooked to a UNIX computer running Sys5.2. As shipped, the Data Carrier Detect is forced on. If a caller hangs up without logging out the line is not dropped and the port seems to be effectively hung until I kill the uugetty running on it. On the other hand, if I set DCD to track the state of the remote carrier the computer won't talk to the modem. What am I doing wrong? Ideas appreciated. Please respond by Email. Many thanks. -- Charles Judson ...!pacbell!htwoo!cfj
