The idea is to take real word images from scanners and cameras into the workstation, manipulate images, and output result to Lasergraphics MFR film recorder and/or video. The video portion would need to be processed by a videotape controller board for recording as well as processed for live (NTSC) display through an encode/decode box. I am soliciting views, opinions, and experiences from individuals who have used AT&T hardware/software and can address the following questions: What are the advantages of ATVista compared to TARGA? Is the support from Truevision as strong as it appears? What device incompatibilities are known to exist? What are the upper limits to add-on memory? What is good/bad with TOPAS, RIO, TIPS? My desire is to get an impression of the flexibility of the hardware/software in a single user environment. Investing large amounts of programming time must be avoided in this setting. This workstation would be used strictly for production. Thank you in advance for any comments provided. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ooooo O U.S. mail-----> Mark D.
