My application is quite big and I have a lot of trouble of getting it right into memory. At last I succeeded, but I encountered an annoying bug: LPA prolog throws out the serial port interface (set with MODE COM1...) so that I can't address my video disk any more. Sometimes I think it throws even the memory resident part of COMMAND.COM. Is there any way to get around this? I have thought of two ways, but both ways have their problems: 1. Is it possible to setup my environment, and after having done so, to tell DOS that is has less memory (i.e. 512 Kb). If so, how do I tell DOS that it has fewer memory than fysically available. 2. Can I communicate directly with my COM-port, but how do I address it, and how does a 2400/4800/9600 bps protocol look like? Maybe there are possibilities I overlooked. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Arnold Reinders
