More info for you MH wizards.  I'm not running 6.1 but 6.4.  The problem is
isolated to a single workstation and the problem is as follows:

For all other clients the connection happens to sendmail locally.  For this
one client the connection goes to the server.  The symptom is that the mail
is sent but garbage qf* lf* df* and xf* files are left in /var/spool/mqueue.
send -watch yields a reasonable transaction (although to the wrong host, ie
not local).
