We are using elm and smail and have a direct connect to uunet. We have specified uunet as our smarthost to uunet. Our domain name is s5000.sp.unisys.com. Our route from the Internet is ....{various Internet relay sites}!alice!sx1100!s5000. So now the problem: We send mail to a site via uunet (either by addressing it directly or via the smarthost feature of smail). Smail tacks on our domain address onto the mail. Now when the destination site does a reply, it does NOT take the same path back to us that it took to him. I.e, instead of the relatively short path via uunet, it takes the longer Internet path as a result of his mailer using our domain address. Is there a way to remedy this? It seems that our problem is that sp.unisys.com is a domain address residing in the Internet while s5000.sp.unisys.com is site residing in the UUCP world. What to do? In advance, thanks for your help!! -- Al Kiecker UUCP: uunet!s5000!alan UNISYS - Computer System Group AT&T: 612-635-2574 Roseville,MN 55164-0942 USnail: MS WE2C, PO Box 64942 "Don't Worry, Be Happy"
