About the serial ports in Vector 4: Serial printer port and serial comm. port are made of exactly the same hardware, only the pins 2 and 3 (xmit and receive) are in different order. So, in order to use a modem via the serial printer port you must make a cable (or adapter) with wires 2 and 3 crossed. Then you must modificate your terminal program's port definitions (I hope you have the source!) so that instead of reading/writing via the serial comm. the terminal program reads&writes via the serial printer port.
