(Or so I thought.) I've checked the hard disk for bad sectors and done a low level format but when I try to use mkfs to set up the new file systems like so, # mkfs /dev/hd1 3399 I get the error : put_block couldn't write line 1 being processed when error dectected. I've tried the orginal 1.2 disks as well as the back-ups that I had made and still get the same error (I've also tried the 1.1 source disks.) Is this a bug in mkfs or is something else happening? I've tried /dev/hd2, /dev/hd3, and /dev/hd4 and have still had the same problem. Any help would be appreicated.
