  It turns out that this also solves the compress problem.  Compiling
  it with "cc -i" and then doing a chmem =64000 compress makes it work
  fine.  (And, of course, linking zcat and uncompress to it).  However,
  on compress, RTFM does no F good, since the documentation does not
  state anything of the kind.  (This is not a complaint -- just an
  observation.  Anyone who expects to plug it in and turn it on should
  not be using Minix).
