What I have in mind is a 20 meg. Micropolis drive. The ST-11R holds the low-level formatting routines in ROM and you select the format from a menu of Seagate drive configurations (Seagate 238, 277, etc.). I suspect another format program on disk could be substituted to format for drives of other formats. Is this true, and if so, where can I find such a beast? Will I instead have to burn a custom ROM, or what? My assumption is that if I use a "compatible" drive corresponding to the appropriate Seagate, that it will work. Are there caveats to this? -lar "It's about a man, two women, and a revolution. What could be simpler than that?" - Roger Ebert Lar Kaufman <= my opinions kaufman@Encore.com
