I have a B2000 with GVP HardCard 40Mb Quantum drive and just received my Autoboot Kit for the HardCard. The kit consists in: a) Two EPROM chips (2764, I believe) labelled ODD and EVEN. b) an installation disk which looks like the upgrade of the one I got with the HardCard and allows for autoboot. It performs mainly two things: o format the hard disk o create a boot floppy (which I don't want since I want autoboot). c) NO paper manual, NO readme file, NO DOCs. So, here are the things I need to know: 1. Which chip goes in which socket ? (Only 2 ways, but that's 1 extra !) 2. Do I really need to reformat the disk ? 3. How can I get the Commodore Kickstart 1.3 ROM ? 4. What if I install the GVP EPROM chips before the Kickstart 1.3 ROM ? Thanks you very much for any hint about any of these points. Olivier Mallet.
