Unfortunately, the System-Configuration on the boot volume (df0:) is used. Fortunately, there is a program on the WB disk (at least WB 1.3) called CopyPrefs, which copies System-Config from devs: to df0:devs. You then have to eboot the machine. The USE option in Preferences doesn't work for all items.
