None has yet addressed my problem, however. These termcaps seem to work fine while running a 7 bit connection to our VAX-8700, using, say, unixwindows. However, they don't work with Dnet. Moving up or down a line in vi always moves the cursor to the beginning of the next line, requiring ctrl-L immediately to clear up the mess. Worse, it always begins the vi display about 6 lines down from the top instead of at the top, and it never recognizes that those top 6 lines exist. I thought the problem was in Dnet until it occurred to me to try to login using unixwindows via an 8-bit connection. The same symptoms appeared; thus it is the 8 bit connection that is the problem, not Dnet. Could someone PLEASE enlighten me as to what is going on? I don't have much time to read news anymore, so please email. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ -Keith Mancus <- preferred
