Of course all the problems come to mind >(incompatibilities, where to get it repaired, if a IIgs+ ever does come out >will upgrades be available, etc.), what is your opinion? Should a person get >it or save up for the real thing (I'm sort of leaning toward the latter), and >does anyone have any information about it?-john OLD vaporware (rumored since the IIgs was first announced). If you hold your breath; count on turning blue. The dealers notion of "soon" probably is borrowed from Microsoft :-) (remember how long it took Windows to appear or how loooonnnngggg it's taking for the new version of Word?). Even if there is an eventual Laser IIgs clone, it's awfully difficult to estimate the compatibility of the presently nonexistant :-) BTW (as you will soon read in the next Vaporware column) there is a Taiwanese outfit awaiting U.S. Customs approval of what is alleged to be the first LEGALLY CLONED Macintosh ROMs. I'd offer a small (very small) wager that you'll see a Mac SE clone (for less than a IIgs) before you see a IIgs clone.
