Interesting historical (??) note - there was back in the dark ages an
assembler (by Randy Hyde perhaps?) called LISA.  It was advertised as assembly
over 100,000 lines a minute of code on an Apple II (not +,c,e,or gs - this
was BEFORE those times!).  I do not know if the technology is still being
used.
