I forgot.  The blitter upgrade is definitely available from Atari.
The 520 and 1040 aren't much good as boat anchors, but they make a
fair doorstop.  If you park on a hill you can use the keyboard end
to chock your wheels.  Two of them make a set of miniature jack 
stands you can use to raise the front of your car.  With ten or
more you can glue them to your driveway to construct a very 
effective speed bump.
