It's easy enough to do, as long as you have something to edit the partition table with. I'd recommend Supra's SUPEDIT program; it's a very nice hard disk editor that lets you access the raw data or will let you edit it in interpreted form. (When mucking with partitions, I definitely like the latter so I'm shielded from really gross mistakes.) Just check the table entries, say you have C & D with beginning length C 0 10000 D 10000 20000 and you want to split D - simple. Just change the entry for D: D 10000 10000 E 20000 10000 Of course, if those blocks toward the end of partition D are actually in use, you'll have some problems... You'll also have to change the parameters of each partition's root directory. That's another menu in SUPEDIT - shrink the size of partition D appropriately, and create an appropriate root block for partition E - just copy the values displayed for D. Finally, zero partition E - that will initialize the root directory properly for regular use. On second thought, you should probably also back up D before doing all this, then zero D when you're done, and restore whatever files you want. -- -=- PrayerMail: Send 100Mbits to holyghost@father.son[127.0.0.1] and You Too can have a Personal Electronic Relationship with God!
