Sobek) Newsgroups: comp.sys.atari.st Subject: Minor ARC bug Keywords: ARC 5.12, ARC 5.21b, Verbose Listing Message-ID: <318@laas.laas.fr> Date: 30 Mar 89 16:10:50 GMT Organization: LAAS-CNRS Toulouse France Lines: 25 From time to time, ARC on my ST would throw up 2 bombs! I seem now to have located the problem: when a file has an invalid (0) date, the verbose listing aborts. This is for both versions of arc: ARC 5.12 and ARC 5.21b. It seems even to effect a straight listing (-l) in ARC-5.12. This bug exists also in the Unix version of ARC 5.12, but the Unix version of ARC 5.21 produces: Name Length Stowage SF Size now Date Time CRC ============ ======== ======== ==== ======== ========= ====== ==== FOO.BAR 12714 Crunched 51% 6263 0 (null) 28 0:31a c8bb Whoever has the source to ST ARC, would that person look into this? It's not unlivable, but it is useful to have some details about what has been ARCed. The problem might come about files being archived on a variety of machines. Therefore a more robust ARC is due. Please post the new ARC when done, please! Thanks, -- Ralph P.
