The commands map from RCS, ie 'get' is like 'co', 'put' to 'ci'... It is like RCS, except with enhancements that make it better. One of PVCS's best features is its ability to handle binary files, so you can place any kind of file under revision control. We use it to control CAD schematic binaries, lotus files, wordperfect files, libraries, etc. RCS will not handle these.
