This is a common problem, though (my students have asked this :question so many times that I now include the answer in the write-up for :my courses! :-). ZCOMM has supported Long Packet Kermit for just over a year now. The block size can be as much as 1000 bytes. PibTerm also supports Long Packet Kermit. On ZCOMM, Kermit downloads are automatic, including proper selection of parity/quoting.
