Keywords: MAXI diskette format Message-ID: <4908@hubcap.clemson.edu> Date: 26 Mar 89 06:35:06 GMT Organization: Clemson University, Clemson, SC Lines: 15 Has anybody out there used Herne Data Systems' MAXI Form program. This little baby formats a 360k 5.25" floppy to 420k, and 720k 3.5" floppies to 800k. Are these disks reliable at these capacities. I've successfully formatted several floppies at 420k (I only have a plain vanilla PC-XT 360k floppy drive) with no apparent side effects. Just how long these disks will stay readable this way I don't know. The program is available on SIMTEL20 (in the DSKUTLS directory.) If may be worth looking into, especially if you have a two-floppy PC. If you know something about this program, post it (or mail to me and I'll summarize.) Thanks, Bob
