Message-ID: <22425@agate.BERKELEY.EDU> Date: 31 Mar 89 22:46:47 GMT Sender: usenet@agate.BERKELEY.EDU Reply-To: s21dcq@gandalf.Berkeley.EDU (Jerry The Fairy Yao) Distribution: usa Organization: Statistics Dept., U. C. Berkeley Lines: 17 I am doing a paper on the relative merits of MS-Dos and Mac OS, but I had a hard time finding "computer science" books that analyzes the above two systems in depth _as Operating Systems_(critical assessment of memory management, job control, i/o, etc.), instead of the million how-to books out there for business people. Sorta like _the Design of Unix Operating System_ or _the Unix Programming Environment_. (oh, are they unavailable because they are commercial systems and therefore trade secret and unavailable to public? I hope not.) Thanks. **************** Broadcasting from the Netherworld ***************** Jerry Yao "Liberty, equality, fraternity, and chocolate s21dcq@gandalf.Berkeley.EDU chip cookies indivisible." 8-)
