A local Apple discounter has a "special" on rodime 100 meg external drives ($999). Is this a deal? Are they reliable? They come with a 1 year warranty. Are they noisy? Do they do A/UX? How do they compare with a Quantum 80 meg external (slightly faster I believe), and how will they hold up to being hauled around from place to place (the reason I am choosing an external is 'cause I want an easy way to transfer data). Any advice on a bag (a la la cie)? As usual, all advice is appreciated. (I'll post a summary of interesting info). Happy mac-ing, Dave -- ---------------------------------------------------------------- David Robinowitz dr@cunixb.cc.columbia.edu CU SEAS CS MS, NYC (212) 601-1586
