The Carnegie Mellon Computer Store is taking orders for the NeXT machines now.

As you can see, the low-end (!) model does retail for $6770, approximately what
was anticipated.  However, aside from the fact that none of these machines are
actually being sold just yet (notice the "Special Order Only" status), there is
another catch.  I am told that NeXT will not be selling any machines w/out a
hard drive until sometime in 1990, due to reliability concerns about the
floptical drive.

If this is in fact the case, the minimum price of a running NeXT box goes to
$8855.  *Sigh.*
