There is a TIFF standard, whose overseer is Aldus.  You can get the docs
from the Aldus forum on CompuServe.  BUT the format for IBM/Mac is
different.  The TIFF file has a flag that says whether the byte order is
II (Intel, evil, evil :-)) or MM (Motorola).  Some programs can handle both,
some cannot.
