We ran into a problem when we changed our yp domainname to start with a + (to utilize the $m macro in sendmail.cf). Users who were added to /etc/passwd via a netgroup (+@netgroup) were no longer found (couldn't login). Our domainname was +nprdc.navy.mil. Our netgroup looked like trcf (-,stanonik,+nprdc.navy.mil) ... Our passwd looked like root:... +@trcf: stanonik couldn't login. When we changed the netgroup to trcf (-,stanonik,) ... stanonik could login. So, it appears that domainnames beginning with + trip up netgroup. Maybe it interprets the + as meaning do a further netgroup expansion? Ron Stanonik stanonik@nprdc.navy.mil
