A breakout box confirms that the printer is operating correctly and the cable is correct. The problem is that the Printronix does not support XON/XOFF and the Sun is not paying attention to the hardware handshaking. I made a new kernel with carrier detect enabled, but all that gets me is lpd continually restarting the print job. The Sun does not seem to be interpreting the local mode bits (xs capability) the way tty(4) implies. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The printcap entry I am using is: eb244_lp|Case Printronix P-300 line printer (DEFAULT):\ :lp=/dev/ttyb:\ :sd=/usr/spool/lp_sd12:\ :lf=/dev/null:\ :br#9600:fc#0171777:fs#0006000:xc#0177317:xs#0000460:mx#50:sc: Please email to me and I will summarize.
