We have had the QMS800 for a long time and it has been our TeX workhorse. We recently had problems of the printer crashing when printing certain TeX files. We traced the problem to the font cmmi8 at 8pt (i.e. its natural size). I retrieved a new copy of the associated .PK file from utah-science and that didn't solve it. The fonts cmmi6, cmmi7, cmmi10 do not give us any trouble at all. Is there anything special about cmmi8? Any clues, wild suggestions welcome.
