There is nothing wrong with the cmmi8 font. Rather it has to do with the QMS RAM. There seems to be a bad spot in RAM, a bad memory chip perhaps, and the font that happens to get downloaded to that area is the one that causes problems. The temporary fix that I did for now is to put a dummy font at that location. So things are more or less back to normal and we will have QMS do a test of RAM the next time they are around.
