Summary: NNTP for non-internet sites Message-ID: <76@doctor.UUCP> Date: 21 Mar 89 04:59:04 GMT Reply-To: jms@doctor.UUCP (Joe Smith) Organization: McDonnell Douglas Field Service Co, San Jose CA Lines: 16 What happenned to Spaf's suggestion to change some inet-only groups full fledged usenet newsgroups? In particular, news.software.nntp. We have, like many others do, a small set of Sun workstations that are networked together via TCP/IP over Ethernet. We are not connected to the Internet, but plan to use NNTP between some diskfull workstations. The problem is that news.software.nntp has been distributed via Internet mailing lists, not via uucp. I vote that this particular inet newsgroup be made available via usenet. (That's right, I'm advocating inet leakage in this case.) -- Joe Smith (408)922-6220 | jms@antares.Tymnet.COM[131.146.3.1] or jms@opus McDonnell Douglas FSCO | UUCP: {ames, pyramid}!oliveb!tymix!antares!jms PO Box 49019, MS-D21 | PDP-10: JMS@F74.Tymnet CA license plate: "POPJ P," San Jose, CA 95161-9019 | narrator.device: "I didn't say that, my Amiga did!"
