There were four questions: (1) name of school, (2) can undergrads read/post/ both, (3) number of undergrads, and (4) number of active readers/posters. The request for responses was posted to soc.college. (This survey was prompted by a discussion in news.admin about whether undergraduates should be allowed to post. That particular discussion seems to have mostly died out by now.) Below are the responses so far. Obviously there is a high degree of guesstimation in the Readers/Posters columns, although in a couple of cases I got responses from news admins who (maybe :-) have a better idea of the number of people. I would also guess that this survey still severely underestimates the number of undegrads with net access. School Post? In the context of the original discussion, I think the above indicates that 15,000 more undergrads with posting privileges at Georgia Tech will not break the net. (Unless of course they are become news.junkies). -- Tom Wilson wilson@uhccux.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu (Internet) wilson@uhccux.UUCP || wilson@uhccux (Bitnet)
