I do wish, however, he weren't so elitist! -- a charge I think substantiated by his latest postings on creation/deletion guidelines (while he's right that the net is not a democracy, that's no reason for turning it into an oligarchy). My suggestions: leave creation guidelines as is (as are?) for now. Deletion guidelines: remember that individual sites can decline to carry groups, so I think the presumption should be in favor of any particular group. Therefore, it should be 100 more votes to delete than to keep before a group is deleted, with no minimum number of keep votes required -- and a vote may not even be considered 'binding' (or what passes for that on the net) unless there have been fewer than 5 postings over the previous four months.
