Also, Usenet is carried by the IGC networks (Institute for Global
Communications: PeaceNet, EcoNet, and HomeoNet).   At the WELL, you
have to bang into Unix to access the newsgroups; at IGC they are
accessed by using the same conferencing software that runs the local
conferences -very easy.
