Message-ID: <1252@naucse.UUCP> Date: 29 Mar 89 07:04:59 GMT Distribution: na Organization: Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ Lines: 31 I wonder if anyone out there, probably with a satellite tv system, is using a machine readable tv listing. Background: Depending on your area, you may have noticed some of the satellite tv listing service magazines in stores, such as Orbit, Satellite TV Week, or others. There is such an overwhelming amount of programming available on satellite, that it becomes a really large task to locate specific programs. For example, I have an interest in about 100 movies which have been made in the area over the last 50 years, and would greatly like to know when one is being shown. However, it is very easy to miss one, being buried in the listings. Last August, I was investigating a service called SUPERGUIDE, which consisted of a box which was downloaded with upcoming schedules, which could then be displayed on-screen. I made some initial inquires as to whether there might be an RS 232 port or something that I could use to have my computer look for specific titles on upcoming programs, but they didn't seem equipped to answer such a question. I'd greatly like to hear from anyone using this or a similar service.
